CMA Program

Program Description: The Clinical Medical Assistant Program is designed to equip students with the essential skills needed for various aspects of medical assistants' responsibilities. This comprehensive training course prepares students for exciting and rewarding careers in the healthcare field. The Clinical Medical Assistant Program focuses on preparing students to assist physicians by performing essential functions related to both the business administration and clinical duties of a medical office.

Instruction on the business aspects includes topics like insurance reporting, office accounting, and managing medical records. The clinical instruction encompasses preparing patients for examination and treatment, conducting routine laboratory procedures, and utilizing the electrocardiograph machine. These roles beckon individuals eager to thrive in a high-tech, dynamic environment filled with challenges and service commitments. Students will delve into healthcare history, explore types of healthcare opportunities, and learn about professional workplace behavior, ethics, and the legal aspects of the healthcare setting. They will also be responsible for performing minor medical/surgical procedures using aseptic techniques where required, accurately measuring vital signs, and executing other fundamental clinical procedures. Furthermore, students will have the chance to engage with healthcare technology as they participate in clinical experiences at local healthcare facilities.

This program consists of a 24-week training course, running 5 days a week, totaling 720 clock hours of classroom and laboratory training, which includes 160 hours of clinical externship within the overall clock hours.

Admission Requirements:

- High school diploma or GED

- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing

- Basic computer skills and access to email

- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and navigate limited spaces

- Ability to push, pull, and lift 50+ pounds

- Pass a criminal background check

- Current healthcare vaccinations

- Complete a physical form

- Hold a current CPR/BLS certification (which can be obtained during the program)

Prerequisites required:

- High school diploma or GED

- Achieve 80% or higher on the CMA admissions exam

Cost of Program/Tuition Breakdown:

The total cost of the program is $6,400.00, which covers the initial National certification exam, background check, textbook rental, one scrub uniform set, and CPR certification. A deposit of $250.00 is required upon signing the enrollment agreement, which includes a $150.00 registration fee. The remaining balance of $6,150.00 must be settled by the last day of class.

Tuition Breakdown: Registration fee = $150.00, Textbook rental = $105.00, CPR certification = $50.00, Background check = $35.00, Uniform set = $60.00, Initial Competency Exam (written and skills portion) fee = $160.00, Total Tuition = $5,840.00

Payment Plans: Students may arrange payments following the agreed-upon payment plan, ensuring that the balance is paid in full by the Friday before the final examination day of class.
