LPN Program

 The Advance Nursing Training Practical Nursing program consists of terms, which include classroom instruction, laboratory hours, coordinated supervised clinical activities in hospitals, rehabilitation /long-term care facilities, and our unique life/financial skills component. This is a competency-based program designed to incorporate an integrated method of teaching. The Practical Nursing program at Advance Nursing Training, provides knowledge and skills to include safety and quality into nursing care to meet the needs of the person as a whole individual. The curriculum will prepare the student to succeed post completion, in their nursing career and financially with the inclusion of life skills/financial literacy. 

Upon graduation students are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX-PN) which is required to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Louisiana. The employment opportunities available include hospitals, long term care/ rehabilitation facilities, clinics, home health/hospice agencies, and physician offices.

Program Length: 14 months

Class Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am-3:30pm

Please be sure to read and fulfill each of the requirements listed below. Every student is required to complete this list before starting classes at Advance Nursing Training:

• HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED
• TABE Entrance EXAM 11.0 in all areas Reading Mathematics, Language
• SUCCESSFUL ADMISSIONS INTERVIEW
• NEGATIVE TB SKIN TEST OR CHEST XRAY WITHIN THE LAST 1 YEAR
• NEGATIVE DRUG SCREEN
• CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK
• CURRENT IMMUNIZATIONS FOR HEPATITIS B, VARICELLA, MMR, TDAP
